4Syte awards disrespectful, lets boycott – Cwesi Oteng.
Gospel musician Cwesi Oteng has called on his colleagues to boycott the annual 4Syte Music Video Awards (MVA) following a no-show for the genre at last Saturday's event.
Organisers of the event failed to announce a winner for the Gospel Music Video Award category at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The ‘God Dey Bless Me' singer, speaking in an interview with KMJ on Daybreak Hitz (Showbiz Review) on Hitz FM, described the development as disrespectful. “Why will you nominate them if you will not mention it, would you do that to any of the other categories?” he quizzed. “I think it's disrespectful.”
Cwesi Oteng, who won the category in 2014, stated that it was annoying for a nominee to honour the invitation to the awards only to be disrespected in such a manner.
According to him, there have been several attempts by event organizers to make the gospel genre look less important in the eyes of people and the 4syte Music Video Awards was no exception.
He continued that, “Gospel is the front liner genre in the country and I want our people to know that you don't need any awards to get to the top.”
Kwesi Ernest, Manager of gospel artistes, SP Sarpong and Joyce Blessing, who was a panelist on the show, agreed with Cwesi Oteng.
He said the organisers have shown gross disrespect to God and gospel musicians and, therefore, needs repentance.
“What organisers need now is total repentance because they have sinned against the body of Christ and his servants, you don't treat people who do the work of God in that nature.”
Sharing his sentiments on how his artistes were mistreated by organisers of the 4Syte MVA, Kwesi Ernest said, “My artiste Joyce Blessing was nominated, Francis Amo and Obaapa Christy were also nominated and as of Thursday there was a not a single ticket that was sent to us as nominees.”
Meanwhile, Media Coordinator for the 4Syte Music Video Awards, Nii Amaar Amarteifio responding to the threat from Cwesi Oteng said he believes boycotting the awards is not the way forward.
“We are sorry about what happened, we have called some of the gospel musicians and we will sit down with them and try to iron this situation out,” he told Hitz News..

“I Accepted A Bribe To Keep Mute After Seeing A Pastor Bonk A Colleague’s Wife In His Office” – Gospel Singer, Erico
Famous for competing in the Mentor competition, gospel artist Eric Oduro has shared how he exposed a senior pastor who was having an extramarital affair with a colleague's wife.
In his account of the incident on Adom TV's Okukuseku with Emelia Brobbey, Erico said that he had been hired to serve at a church in Nungua when the incident occurred.
It was his responsibility, he said, to oversee a spirit-filled ministry that would bring in the senior pastor to deliver a sermon to the congregation.
He stated he had to reroute his route and return to the church after doing his work and leaving the property because he had forgotten his glasses in the pastor's office.
Upon barging into the senior pastor's office, he said the scene that unfolded before him was so shocking that, to date, he occasionally gets flashbacks.
Erico recounted seeing the pastor pants down while banging the junior pastor's wife, who doubles as the church's secretary, on his desk.
As he snatched his spectacles and made attempts to quietly walk out, he said the pastor pleaded with him not to create a scene as church service was still ongoing.
In exchange for his silence, Erico claims the pastor offered him a substantial bribe, which he accepted.

“I Won’t Advice Myself To Date An Industry Person” – Gyakie
Ghanaian artist Gyakie has opened up about her misgivings about dating a man who works in the music or creative arts fields.
Although love is undoubtedly lovely, Gyakie stated in a recent interview with 3FM that romantic connections with individuals in your career could be challenging.
She would not be dating anyone in the industry for the time being, even if she accepted that love is erratic.
If there's another version of myself, I won't counsel myself to do that. As it might be quite risky, I wouldn't suggest doing that.
“Love is a beautiful thing. I wouldn't say it's wrong, but at the same time, right now, I wouldn't advise myself to be with an industry person,” Gyakie said.
