Budding Ghanaian based London gospel artiste, Louisa Annan has expressed the difficulty gospel musicians [Ghanaians] go through in promoting their songs and organizing shows in London.
According to her, their colleagues in the secular music are able to pull a large crowd whenever they organize shows unlike the gospel musicians who struggle to pull a large crowd.
She explained, promoting their songs in London is extremely difficult hence most of them have taken to social media to promote their songs aside that, they also promote their songs through radio presenters who play their songs on radio.
Louisa added, gospel musicians promote their songs through churches and events organised mostly by the christian community where most of the musicians sell their CDs.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Agyemang Prempeh at her London base, she said the situation in London is challenging for gospel musicians.
Louisa Annan noted it is extremely expensive for gospel musicians to organize shows at London unlike the secular musicians. She opined that residents patronize shows of secular musicians more than gospel musicians making it difficult for them.
She indicated, even if they are able to organise shows, the halls do not feel to capacity. She revealed, gospel musicians are only able to pull ‘large crowd' when the event organised gathers more than a musician. She used the opportunity to appeal to Ghanaians based in London to patronize events organized by gospel musicians just like they do for the secular musician.
