Can Nana Adwoa Awindor Advice The Youth After Her Daughter Efya Went Half Naked On Her Birthday? – Kwasi Enoch writes.
Earlier this month, Ghanaian female artiste Jane Fauzzier Awindor, popularly known by her stage name as Efya celebrated her birthday.
Popularly Ghanaian celebrities were present at the event and particularly among them was the mother of Efya, Nana Adwoa Awindor.
Efya was captured dressed half naked on her birthday and I was very surprised seeing her mother smiling right beside her daughter.
I believe she is a matured, prominent and influential woman in the Ghanaian society and I was very surprised she allowed her daughter to dress in such a manner exposing herself.
The question that keeps circulating through my mind is, why should a mother allow her daughter dress up half naked on her birthday?
She did not dress up to perform on stage where someone can defend her as such and I must say am very disappointed in Nana Adwoa Awindor for allowing Efya wear that trash and rag as a dress.
My second thought is, can Nana Adwoa Awindor be allowed to advice young people in the society who are going wayward when she is not able to advice her own biological daughter how she should dress on some occasions?
Obviously the answer should be No, I believe no one would take her advice, we are all human and I certainly know people tend to respect someone for what she has been able to do for her home.
I don't think people would take the advice of, for example a minister or a very influential person in the society whose son is a drunkard or a thieve.
They will surely ask themselves if he or she has been able to advice his drunkard son before coming to advice them.
I must say Efya and her mother have dissapointed the Ghanaian society all in the name of some “mad” fashion which has been affecting the society negatively.
I know ladies look more beautiful and elegant when they cover up their body and I don't even know what Efya was trying to expose because she is not even well endowed like her fellow singers.
Looking at her mother's dressing, she perfectly dressed like a real woman who knows the value of womanhood and privacy and I wonder why her daughter should dress like a wh*re.
If Efya wanted to show off her body, then she should have save herself some cedis and go naked on her birthday rather than spending money on such rags which even a poor person would not like to wear.
She is just flat, both behind and front and her dressing depicts that of those night workers on the street of Accra and Kumasi.
I believe she could have done better in her dressing had her mother admonished her and I think Nana Adwoa Awindor needs to speak with her daughter unless she is also in support of her daughter dressing half naked on some social occasions.
Charity they say, Begins at Home.
