I was surprised over winning BET – Stonebwoy.
Versatile Ghanaian Afro/dancehall musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla better known by his stage name as Stonebwoy (@stonebwoyb) has talked about his winning Black Entertainment Television (BET) award and stated that although BET award winning came to him as a shock, but his steady devotion to his craft demonstrates that he deserves this award.
Dancehall artist was announced as the Best International Act 2015, Africa. Other contestants for the wards were Ghanaian rap god, Sarkodie, AKA (South Africa), Sauti Sol (Kenya), Wizkid (Nigeria), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Yemi Alade (Nigeria) and The Soil (South Africa) and among all Stonebwoy take the award home.
The ‘People Dey' hit-maker told radio host in an interview that he was got overjoyed and filled with excitement over listening his name as a winner. It was a proud moment.
Livingstone Etse Satekla is doing very well in music business; he took four awards at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2015 along with Artist of the year, and also at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), he won Best Dancehall Artist Award.
He has made many hit singles including Mightylele, Baafira, Bhim Nation, Run Go, Sheekena and many others.
About winning BET, he said, “It was a surprise to me but I wasn't belittled neither was I intimidated. First and foremost, I tend to derive the joy and like the level that brings to me as an artiste…. It was a surprise to me not to say I don't deserve it but you know that this is genuine so it puts a punch on your emotions. That was the type of surprise. It was well deserved.”
