My absence gave way to ‘nursery artistes’ – Kaakie.

Dancehall artiste, Grace Kaki Awo Ocansey, known in showbiz circles as Kaakie believes her absence from the music scene paved way for budding artistes to register their names in the music industry.
Speaking on Entertainment Capital on Accra FM, Saturday, Kaakie said her national service caused her absence from the music scene.
“When the cat is away, the mice play. [My absence gave way to the] nursery artistes. We will coach them,” she said.
The artiste who just released ‘Sankwas' dispelled assertions that her brand was dead. Her conviction was on the basis that she is not struggling to make a hit.
“The brand is not dead. The people are rather yearning for more. And I went out to serve my people in a different way,” she said.
Kaakie further issued some sort of a warning to artistes who take delight in throwing shots at her just to be famous.
“People still do [throw shots at me]. They think it's the easiest way to get attention from people. I was on something; I'm done. So if you talk one, I will talk ten… Stay in your lane; don't try to drag my name along because my name has its own respect,” she noted.
Asked if that was a threat, Kaakie replied, “That's why I released ‘Sankwas'”.
The dancehall artiste holds a BSc Degree in Midwifery. She hinted that she will focus on music although she is a registered nurse.
