Kwaito singer and pioneer Mduduzi Tshabalala, better known as Mandoza, has passed away at the age of 38 after his battle with a brain tumour.
After his family confirmed last week he was being treated at home for illness, he still made an appearance at the SABC concert last weekend,thanking fans for their prayers.
His passing was confirmed on Twitter this afternoon by SABC Digital News Producer Sthembiso Sithole who it was reported is currently at Mandoza’s family home in Soweto.
Mandoza, who started his music career with group Chiskop, went on to pen and perform one of South Africa’s most beloved songs ‘Nkhalakata’. He will be remembered today and forever through his music.
