Using the same method expecting to have the same results everytime can be sometimes disappointing and unprofessional.
Even if others do use certain laid down principles to make an impact, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll work for you as an individual.
Here in most artiste especially the ‘top artiste' release songs occasionally.
Some are of the view that, it makes their fans to be thirsty for their songs when it comes out.
Other school of thought also do say, they analyse and work on their songs very well before they are released— so that it can be a ‘good music'. So that after so many years if it's been played, it can still sound alive and new.
I don't disagree with them at all. Their thoughts and views are well accepted once it works for them.
But in my own opinion, how many of those tracks they waste time on truly last as they claim?
Well, African Dancehall Commando, Shatta Wale has his own way. According to him, writing and polishing songs slows down the whole process for him.
He don't want to be a perfectionist— so once the idea hits him about a particular song, sharp, he hits the studio and then it's out there.
Interestingly, most of these songs becomes a hit.
These were his words in an interview with MTV UK;
I used to write when I was in school, I have a whole lot of books. But sometimes when I'm sleeping, songs come into my mind; it comes to me straight away. I don't have time to write now, my music teacher told me when the music comes to me just to do it like that and the hand sometimes slows you down. Right now I've come to realise, what type of songs people want to hear in the clubs, the BPM's DJ's like to play.
This is a challenge to you and I reading this. How do you do your things to get your desired results?
Once it works for you and it's the right thing, stick to it. Don't go copying someone's style or method— it only render you unattractive and unmarketable.
