Never think you are the only one concerned over the way and manner musicians in Ghana are passing away of late. Highlife musician, , shares in your pain too.
Nana Quame argues there is no trust fund for Ghanaian musicians
Lamenting on how entertainers keep “dying like dogs in Ghana”, the “Atia Donko” hitmaker says the blame can best be placed on the poor structures of Ghana's entertainment industry.
“I was supposed to be one of the richest musicians in this country but our structures are poor… in Ghana, entertainers are dying like dogs. It's the truth! Some musicians can't even afford three square meals a day,” he fumed in an interview with StarrFM.
Nana Quame is therefore calling for the shutdown of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), adding that the unions have done little to support musicians.
The concerns raised by Nana Quame follows the sudden death of Ghanaian musicians as Daasebre Gyamenah, Pozo and Danny Nettey this year.
