"Shatta Wale and I are like Kotoko and Hearts" – Samini
Ghanaian Dancehall musician Samini has described his relationship with Shatta Wale as a ‘Kotoko and Hearts’ affair.
According to him, they can always make peace but anytime they meet on stage, they will see each other as opponents just like the top two Ghana premier league clubs.
Samini told Pulse TV that “We are like Kotoko and Hearts. No matter how cool we are, we will always clash on stage.”
When asked whether fans should expect a musical collaboration between them, he said it’s possible. “Never say never. Let’s just watch what will happen,” he added.
Shatta Wale and Samini have been at loggerheads for more than 5 years. Their unresolved beef was due to the ‘Dancehall crown’ which was first claimed by Shatta Wale.
They have attempted on several occasions to unite but to no avail. Their latest reunion occurred on Twitter on Shatta Wale’s birthday. On Shatta Wale’s 32nd birthday, Samini wished him well on the special occasion and suggested his existence is never complete without the birthday celebrant.
Shatta Wale who seemed to be in a happy mood decided to follow the artist which resulted in an instant follow back. The two have since expressed their excitement preaching peace among Ghanaians and calling for support for Ghana music.
