In an era where artistes' fan armies are the motivators, foot soldiers and gatekeepers of artistes' visions and values, artistes do whatever is possible to maintain them.
Artistes either hang out, meet and greet, dine and wine or even organise free concerts for their staunch fans to show appreciation and a way of keeping them closer.
One of Ghana showbiz biggest and most dedicated fan army is Get'emites – the official fan army of rapper Edem. The fan army is growing fast and wide, and the latest addition is a branch.
Edem, who wasn't aware of this had the opportunity to meet with the branch head and one of his very first staunch fans while in the capital town of the Northern Region preparing for “Operation Suhudoo” concert.
Upon meeting them, he gave them the chance to listen to three of his unreleased songs and choose which one would hit nationwide. He further promised that, if they predict right, he would deposit an amount of $100 dollars (equivalent to 400 cedis) each into their bank accounts.
“I have three songs that I am about to release. I want you to be the first fans to listen and tell me which one would hit nationwide. If your predictions come true, I will give each of you $100 dollars,” Edem promised.
The three songs feature three top Nigerian artistes. The first one he played features “Murda” hitmaker Seyi Shay, the second features “Girlie ‘O'” hitmaker Patoranking and the last song features “Shake Body” hitmaker Skales.
After listening to the songs twice, both of them went for the one featuring Seyi Shay. “This is the type of songs our people here (in Tamale) like to listen. It will hit,” Get'emites Tamale branch leader who is known as Mayor said.
Edem revealed that their predicted hit will be out in a month or by January next year.
Edem is a headline artiste for “Operation Suhudoo” – the biggest concert of the year to hit Tamale. He will rock the stage on Saturday (Nov. 26) alongside Tinny, Iwan, Fareed and two of Tamale biggest acts; Fancy Gadam and Maccasio.

The Ningo Prampram Member of Parliament, Sam George, has come under fire from socialite for not fixing the roads in his district.

Korkor posted a video of her community's terribly maintained roads that was shot in Tema Community 25 after recent rains.

She claims that Uber drivers won't come to the neighborhood to give rides because of how terrible the roads are.

She added that, as a result, she must travel in a motor vehicle to do all of her errands. As Korkor hauled local MP Sam George, she did not hold back.

She also had some harsh words to say about Stephanie Karikari, the former Miss Ghana, and former President Mahama, among many others.

After making fun of Stonebwoy's disabilities, Ghanaian reggae dancehall musician has adamantly refused to apologize to the Ghana Society of Physically Disabled (GSPD).
