I’ve never received royalty in Ghana – M.anifest

One of Ghana's successful musicians, , has disclosed that he has never received any royalty for his music in Ghana.
The rapper, in an interview on Daybreak Hitz with KMJ on Hitz FM lamented that, “I haven't received a single cedi or pesewa but I'm sure my music has been increasingly played.”
He, however, described the royalty system in Ghana as tragic adding the only way artistes in Ghana make money is by playing shows.
“It's quite tragic that the royalty system in Ghana does not work for us,” he observed.
The rapper expressed his concern on how radio stations play commercials with songs of various artistes but don't appreciate them with royalties, a situation he describes as “hand go, hand come”.
continued that he belongs to a group called the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) who collect his royalties from countries outside Ghana including America, South Africa and Europe.
The rapper, whose real name is Kwame Ametepee Ttsikata, never the less, believes that this unfortunate situation can be fixed so the royalty system can work.
He stressed that since he has experienced the system work outside Ghana and was sure it could also work in Ghana.
“It is not unsolvable. We cannot pretend there is no solution,” he said.

In addition to stressing the need to select the appropriate spouse for marriage, actor also advised people to exercise prudence when making their choice.

The Ghanaian actor feels that marriage has great importance in a person's life as it is a heavenly institution designed to ensure human perpetuation through conception.

But he cautions that it can be harmful to marry someone whose attitude and temperament are incompatible with your own, potentially having an influence on both your personal and professional lives.

In addition, he emphasized the damaging effects of dishonesty in relationships and how it may erode stability and trust. He was vehemently opposed to lying, saying that those who tell lies are more dangerous to a marriage than people who have extramarital relationships. 

In the video below, he stressed the value of honesty as the cornerstone of a happy and long-lasting marriage and concluded, “In my view, dishonesty is a grave offense.”

In an interview with Accra-based Onua FM, DJ Azonto asserts that his song “Fa No Fom” is among the most popular in Ghanaian history.

When DJ Azonto compared his song to those of other singers, he said without doubt that his music was greater than the whole of all the songs recorded by the renowned artist Daddy Lumba.

He continued by saying that in addition to becoming well-known, his hit song allowed him to earn a substantial amount of money.

“I've said and continue to say that my hit song is bigger than all Daddy Lumba songs he has produced. I make a lot of money from my song. I share my song with ditto.com and they pay me handsomely. The last time I was going to London I was paid one hundred thousand pounds by ditto.com so this must tell you the kind of people listening to my songs”, he said.
