Stop pitching heads against each other – Stonebwoy
Ghanaian artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla Stonebwoy (@Stonebwoyb) is not happy about Ghana’s low presence in the Black Entertainment Television Awards, Citi Showbiz has gathered.
Even though the dance hall artiste has been nominated for the second time in the awards, he wishes Ghana had more artistes nominated apart from him.
In an Instagram post meant to express his gratitude for the nomination, he further bemoaned the low visibility of Ghana in the BET Awards and called for unity among stakeholders of the music industry.
“South Africa is getting about 3 nominations, Nigeria is getting about 3 nomination, what is happening to Ghana? Lets support our own and stop the Division. Stop the “Destroy To Win” Tactics. Stop Pitching Heads against each other and lets all represent for Mother Ghana,” he said.
The ‘Wogbejeke’ singer will be contesting Mr. Eazi (Nigeria), Wizkid (Nigeria), Davido (Nigeria), Tekno (Nigeria), AKA (South Africa), Nasty C (South Africa), and Babes Wodumo (South Africa) for the ‘Best International Act: Africa’ award this year.
In the post on Instagram, he dedicated the nomination to all Ghanaians: “Thanks For All The Love!! ?? This Is For Ghana And Not Just BhimNation…”
“BhimNation This Is For You HighGrade Family This Is For You Sarkcess Music This is For You R2beez Nation This is For You Shatta Movement This Is For You Eliens This Is For You Every Ghanaian This Is For You,” he added.
The 2017 edition of the Black Entertainment Television Awards is scheduled for the Microsoft Theatre on June 25, 2017.
