Black Stars captain, , has confessed that the disappearance of his friend, Castro, has derailed his music career.
Between 2013 and 2014, Castro and Gyan collaborated on several hits songs, which established Gyan's reputation as a fine singer.
Some of the songs, which topped local music charts, included African Girls, Do The Dance and Odo Pa.
But since Castro disappeared in a Jet Ski accident on the Volta River in 2014, Gyan has not released any new songs.
In a recent interview with Accra-based Hot FM, the Ghana striker addressed the issue.
He confessed that since Castro disappeared, he had lost the urge to make music and that he was also losing his love for singing.
Gyan, who recently struck his 50th goal for the Black Stars, said he recorded some songs with Castro before his disappearance and would consider releasing them in future.
He did not provide a timeline as to when the songs could be released.
The disappearance of Castro, a popular hiplife singer, on July 6, 2014 shocked the nation.
He had gone for a weekend trip with and his friends at Ada in the Greater Accra Region when he disappeared.
Reports say he left the hotel where he and his friends lodged and went cruising on a ski boat with a female friend, Janet Bandu.
Castro, who did not return from the boat cruise, is believed to have drowned in the Volta River alongside his female friend. Several efforts by national rescue and emergency services to find him were fruitless.
